Lisa Butcher CA

My career began straight from University where I was offered an undergraduate position with PricewaterhouseCoopers (Private Client Services Division). During this time, I mastered the ability to prepare accounts and all taxation requirements, structuring and advice for high net worth individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and super funds. I also developed the necessary skills of time management, client relations, attention to detail, people management, and overall PWC equipped me with the foundation knowledge and integrity I still stand by today.
After 6.5 years, and holding the position of Manager, I decided I needed to travel, see the World, and develop my career further. I arrived in London, UK, during the GFC of 2008, and managed to secure a contracting role which later enabled me to move to a permanent Financial Controller position within a family owned food retail Company, EAT Limited. I thrived and sunk my teeth into this Company and had a very hands-on approach to all the accounting and taxations issues.
My heart strings were pulling after 2.5 year and I felt my time in London was achieved. I needed to come home to Australia where I was fortunate enough to secure a role at Olam Australia (the old Queensland Cotton Board). My role here as Financial Controller was similar to the work I did in London and after more than 3.5 years, personal reasons took me to Cairns where my Husband and I started and completed our family of 2 children. I’ve had the fortunate experience to be able to have 4 years out of the workforce, to enjoy the maximum time with my young family, but before taking the position of Senior Accountant with Balanix Solutions.
I am a qualified Chartered Accountant (2005) and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. I also hold a Bachelor of Business Management and a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Queensland (majoring in accounting and marketing).
